The Northshore Literary Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a central point for our vibrant literary community through social and educational events, support of each others work, and promotion of literacy throughout the parish.
Previous post by Anna Marie 9-1-2010: We have a wonderful group of core members, but would like to expand that throughout St. Tammany Parrish. NLS meets about 6 times a year on Sunday afternoons. We talk about what we have been up to in the literary community over wine and refreshments and then usually have a guest speaker.
So many authors live and work in the area, that we’d like to use that rich literary community to promote literacy through the schools and community. Please visit our website at www.northshoreliterarysociety.com if you are interested in joining this growing community of writers and book lovers. Also, many of our working writers are willing to speak at schools and book clubs.
